MEDICOM TOY, BE@RBRICK ANDY WARHOL Double Mona Lisa 100% & 400% SET.
From 1928 to 1987, Andy Warhol made a series of silkscreen prints inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s legendary Mona Lisa painting. One of these silkscreens is now the focus of a collaborative BE@RBRICK edition between the Andy Warhol Foundation and Medicom Toy. The 100% and 400% sized collectibles are entirely covered with a montage of the Double Mona Lisa visual alongside Andy Warhol’s signature on the back portions of the toys.
Founded in 1996, MEDICOM TOY is a Japanese toy brand that specialises in creating collectable toys and superheroes. MEDICOM TOY aimed to create collectable pieces of art rather, thus their products are sold in limited quantities. Their most popular line of toys is the BE@RBRICK series and the name is derived from the fact that the figure is a cartoon-style representation of a bear. Each figure features nine parts (widely referred to as tools in the toy industry): head, torso, hips, arms, hands, and legs. These nine tools allow eight points of articulation. MediCom Toy (BE@RBRICK ), counts a long list of collaborations, including Star Wars, Undercover, Disney, Chanel, Supreme, Fendi and much more.
