MEDICOM TOY, BE@RBRICK KARIMOKU X FRAGMENT Polygon Chess 400%.
When a fashion label and a house specializing in wood meet, this gives rise to beautiful and complex sculptures. Karimoku and Fragment Design, led by Hiroshi Fujiwara, have teamed up to create a collaboration with Medicom resulting in Polygon Chess made from several species of wood assembled and then cut into polygons, giving an exceptional contemporary geometric piece.
Founded in 1996, MEDICOM TOY is a Japanese toy brand that specialises in creating collectable toys and superheroes. MEDICOM TOY aimed to create collectable pieces of art rather, thus their products are sold in limited quantities. Their most popular line of toys is the BE@RBRICK series and the name is derived from the fact that the figure is a cartoon-style representation of a bear. Each figure features nine parts (widely referred to as tools in the toy industry): head, torso, hips, arms, hands, and legs. These nine tools allow eight points of articulation. MediCom Toy (BE@RBRICK ), counts a long list of collaborations, including Star Wars, Undercover, Disney, Chanel, Supreme, Fendi and much more.
